World Cruise Day #10- another sea day en route to Marquesas Islands

Cruise World Day #10- another sea day en route to Marquesas Islands

We set our clocks back for the fourth day in a row.  That makes it easy to wake up early.

My official morning routine:

·         Rise between 6 and 7AM

·         Coffee from café (Marie and Angelique know my order from memory) and meditation by aft sea-view pool

·         Breakfast

·         Qi Jong or Tai Chi

·         Check out daily puzzle in library.

·         Maybe walk promenade deck-4.5 rotations for a mile

·         Lecture or class or presentation or reading by the pool etc.

·         11:45 AM trivia team

Qi Jong Instructor

My typical afternoon routine:

·         Lunch: lido or main dining room

·         Classes, lectures, presentations, reading, ballroom dance class etc.

·         5:00 trivia team

·         5:30 dinner

·         Ballroom dancing

·         Show in the big theatre: The Queen’s Lounge

·         Ballroom dancing

·         Maybe a Movie

·         Tea before bed

·         Review the next day’s schedule and set wake-up call (if any) accordingly.

Today, I participated in the hula dance class. I am convinced this style of dance, like flamenco, is learned at an early age after being immersed in the culture. We all looked quite ridiculous!! There were the requisite 5 men and 4 trillion women in the class!

I listened to part of a lecture series on the history and culture of Judaism conducted by the onboard Rabbi. I found his remarks thought-provoking.

The Fox trot dance class was packed.

Tonight's performance was illusionist/mentalist couple The Evasons.  Although their performance was entertaining and well executed, I later discovered their deceptive technique and was highly disappointed. Unlike all the other acts, they only performed one show, so it must be difficult to perpetrate “back-to-back deceptive” acts.

After listening to the jazz jam session, I watched most of a movie, Man, Woman, and Children. I enjoyed this commentary on relationship dynamics (parent-child, teen-teen, husband wife) and the role of technology in our daily lives. I am surprised it did not gain more traction at home.

I retired thinking about what would unfold the next sea day.
